GS Retail’s convenience store chain GS25 has launched “MIX UP,” a shake-to-drink highball.

Available in two flavors, grape and lychee, the drink has an alcohol content of 3.5%. It features a water-jelly texture designed to differentiate it from conventional RTD(ready-to-drink) highballs. Jelly-style alcoholic beverages have emerged as a growing trend overseas.

Consumers are instructed to shake the can at least 10 times before drinking. The drink contains a fruit juice-based gel that breaks apart when shaken, transforming into small water-jelly pieces. When poured into a glass, the jelly particles can also be seen flowing out.

The MIX UP highball is priced at KRW 4,500 per can. Until September, consumers can purchase four cans for KRW 14,000.
