The Shilla Seoul is introducing limited-edition cocktails for the fall season inspired by the global bar industry trend of “localism cocktails.”
Localism cocktails are drinks that incorporate regional ingredients and traditional alcoholic beverages to tell the story of their place of origin and the producers behind them.
Beginning Sept. 1, the hotel’s bar, The Library, will offer two new cocktails: ‘Chrysanthemum Citrus Bloom’ and ‘Fig Velvet Veil.’ The seasonal menu targets foreign tourists interested in K-food, including Korean traditional liquor, as well as domestic customers seeking new culinary experiences.
Chrysanthemum Citrus Bloom combines chrysanthemum-infused makgeolli crafted by ‘Brewing Yoon Jumo’ with citrus ingredients. The cocktail offers a modern interpretation of the cultural significance of chrysanthemum liquor. Brewing Yoon Jumo recently gained recognition by finishing in the Top 5 of a televised cooking competition program.
Fig Velvet Veil highlights fresh figs, a seasonal autumn fruit. The cocktail features a bourbon whiskey base topped with mascarpone cheese foam.
