Terms of Service

Article 1 (Purpose)

These Terms of Service set out the rights, obligations and responsibilities of SoolTimes (the “Company”) and its members, together with other necessary matters, in relation to the internet services (the “Service”) the Company provides.

Article 2 (Definitions)

  • Service — everything the Company offers through the websites and mobile applications it operates.
  • Member — a customer who accesses the Service, enters into a use agreement with the Company under these Terms, and uses the Service.
  • ID — a combination of letters and numbers chosen by the Member and approved by the Company, used to identify the Member and to use the Service.
  • Password — a combination of letters and numbers set by the Member to protect the Member’s account.
  • Content — all digital content the Company provides through the Service.

Article 3 (Publication and amendment of these Terms)

  • The Company posts these Terms on the initial screen of the Service so that Members can read them easily.
  • The Company may amend these Terms where it considers it necessary. Amended Terms are posted on the Service or otherwise notified to Members.
  • Amended Terms take effect from the day they are announced. A Member who does not agree to the amendment may stop using the Service and ask to close their account.

Article 4 (Membership)

  • A person who wishes to become a Member applies by completing the form set by the Company and indicating agreement to these Terms.
  • The Company may decline an application where the applicant:
    • has entered false information;
    • has applied using another person’s identity; or
    • is otherwise judged unsuitable for membership.
  • The agreement is formed at the moment the Company approves the application.

Article 5 (Provision and change of the Service)

  • The Company provides Members with:
    • information on drinks from Korea and around the world;
    • news and coverage of drinks-related events;
    • community services; and
    • other services the Company decides to offer.
  • The Company may change the content of the Service and its operating policies. Changes are posted on the Service or otherwise notified to Members.

Article 6 (Suspension of the Service)

  • The Company may suspend the Service temporarily where:
    • maintenance, repair or similar work is required;
    • a telecommunications carrier has suspended its service; or
    • another unavoidable reason arises.
  • Where the Service is suspended, the Company gives notice on the Service in advance or notifies Members individually.

Article 7 (Withdrawal and loss of membership)

  • A Member may close their account at any time using the withdrawal function within the Service, and the Company processes it immediately.
  • The Company may restrict or withdraw membership where a Member:
    • interferes with another person’s use of the Service or misuses another person’s personal information;
    • acts contrary to law, these Terms or public order and morals; or
    • is otherwise judged unsuitable to remain a Member.

Article 8 (Obligations of Members)

  • A Member must not:
    • register false information;
    • misuse another person’s information;
    • alter or redistribute the Service without authorisation;
    • engage in commercial activity without the Company’s prior consent; or
    • act unlawfully or improperly in any other way.
  • A Member must notify the Company promptly when their personal information changes.

Article 9 (Obligations of the Company)

  • The Company does not act contrary to law, these Terms or public order and morals, and does its best to provide the Service continuously and reliably.
  • The Company works to protect personal information so that Members can use the Service safely.

Article 10 (Protection of personal information)

  • The Company complies with the applicable laws and follows its Privacy Policy in protecting Members’ personal information.
  • The Company does not provide Members’ personal information to third parties without consent, and uses it only within the scope set out in the Privacy Policy.

Article 11 (Posted material)

  • Copyright in material posted to the Service by a Member belongs to that Member. The Company may use such material for operating and promoting the Service.
  • Members must take care that their material does not infringe the rights of others. The Company may delete problematic material without prior notice.

Article 12 (Disputes)

  • The Company does not take part in, and bears no responsibility for, disputes arising between Members, or between a Member and a third party, in connection with the Service.
  • Disputes between the Company and a Member are resolved by mutual discussion; failing that, in accordance with the applicable laws.

Article 13 (Other matters)

  • Matters not provided for in these Terms follow the applicable laws and commercial practice.
  • Any dispute over the interpretation or application of these Terms falls under the jurisdiction of the court having jurisdiction over the Company’s head office.

These Terms take effect from 15 June 2024.
