Kooksoondang Revamps Design of ‘Saeng Baekseju’ for First Anniversary
Emphasizing Its Identity as an Unpasteurized Rice Wine

Kooksoondang has unveiled a new design for its ‘Saeng Baekseju’ rice wine as the product marks its first anniversary.
The new label features the Chinese character ‘生’(saeng) prominently in the center, along with a green color scheme to highlight the product’s identity as an unpasteurized rice wine. The ‘生백세주’ logo is placed at the top for clearer product identification. The taste and quality remain unchanged.
‘Saeng Baekseju’ is made with rice harvested in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, and ‘Baekhagook’, a fermentation starter produced using Kooksoondang’s fermentation technology, along with various other ingredients. The product uses a different blend of ingredients from the original Baekseju and does not undergo pasteurization. It is produced by agricultural corporation Park Bongdam Brewery and has an alcohol content of 13%.
The product was initially sold only at select retailers equipped to handle unpasteurized rice wine beginning in 2002. Following its official launch in September last year, Kooksoondang expanded its distribution to online traditional liquor retailers and other sales channels.
